It's always been good to be patiently waiting. Sometimes I saw photographers leaving the same place that I was expecting to be a good subject just ten minutes before the most beautiful sky was visible.
Especially when the sky is cloudy, but the sun comes out again for some seconds, it's really impressive!
Very nice work, I like the stone path leading into the composition.
Couple time I've left too early and seen the best skies while driving home, you are going to learn to be patient after that happens. I've been in this spot once a few years ago during the spring, but noticed the stone path last summer. It's visible only during the summer and autumn when the water level is low.
Matias, Truly superb moment in time captured, and I am so glad you waited 10 more minutes and captured this. The foreground stones and grasses draw the eyes in and you glide over the calm waters taking in the skys reflections and the beautiful colours that turn the water into an artists pallette. As you reach the tree line beyond you are drawn upwards over the background hillside to the cloud formations above. Absolutely stunning work indeed. Simon
My plan was to shoot long-exposure-cloud-streak stuff, like this [link] . I spent a lot of time finding a good composition, that would show the stone path and reflection of that island. I was going to take 1-2 minute exposure, but then the sky light up.
